"Too
much of a good thing is wonderful."
Mae West
"You
are enough. You have enough. You do enough."

"Treating
my self like a precious object will make me strong."

These
women know the important of taking care of yourself. If you don’t
take care of your body on a regular basis, you won’t have the energy
and strength to achieve your goals. It’s that simple. Consider this:
what fun will it be to live your life purpose if you’re exhausted
or sick?
Self
care involves recognizing when you’re getting tired, stressed, or
bored, before you bottom out. It’s imperative that you spot a potential
burn-out or stress-caused illness before it happens so you have
the energy to continue on your journey of service to others — the
service that only you can do by fully living your life purpose.
In
this section, you’ll define the warnings that alert you when you’re
heading toward being over-worked, over-tired, and over-stressed.
You’ll explore different ways of taking care of yourself during
stressful and exhausting times. You’ll also set up a system so that
taking care of yourself on a daily basis becomes as natural and
normal as brushing your teeth every morning.
A
system of caring for yourself is not a luxury. Nor is it an option.
You’re a precious being of great value, and like anything that’s
of great value, you deserve to have the best of care. You’ll retain
your value only if you’re kept in optimum condition. In order for
you to do the important work you chose this lifetime, you must be
able to function at your optimum.
How
can you possibly be of service to others if you’re too tired or
too sick to do anything but lie in bed?
Any
flight in a commercial plane includes pre-flight instructions that
the flight attendants give the passengers. In their instructions
they tell those who are flying with children that in case of emergency
the adult is to put on their oxygen mask first and then help the
children with their masks. If the adult passes out from lack of
oxygen, they aren’t going to be able to help the children.
It’s
the same principal with serving your life purpose. If you’re constantly
laid up because of stress related illness or pure exhaustion, you’re
not going to be of much use to those whom you chose to serve this
lifetime.
