Motivation
and manifesting work hand in hand with each other. Understanding
what motivates you (why you want something) adds power and speed
to your manifesting and increases your ability to obtain what you
want. Both are very useful tools to have with you as you journey
toward living your life purpose.
In
this chapter you’ll identify your motivators you and how best to
use them to your advantage.
You’ll
also learn what you’ve been doing and continue to do that creates
what’s in front of you now - your home, your work, the state of
your finances, the quality of people in your life, and more.
You’ll
discover tools to help you consciously manifest what you want. You’ll
combine the use of your motivators and knowledge of manifesting
to help you move more directly and with more speed toward successfully
living your life purpose.
Like
most people, you may not be consciously aware of how you create
the things and events in your life. So first, let’s find outwhat
moves you into action (your motivators) and then hone your manifesting
skills.
What
Are Motivators?
People
are motivated by a variety of things, but what motivates you may
have no effect or may even have the opposite effect on someone else.
As an example, fear can be a great motivator, or it can have the
opposite effect by stopping forward movement. Fear can stir you
to action or it can create an extreme state of non-movement that
may even develop into a catatonic state. Same thing, different effects.
When you understand what motivates you, you can use it consciously
to get you moving toward what you want - successfully living your
life purpose.
Many
times while traveling the path of your life purpose you’ll get bogged
down or stuck. We’ll deal more with what stops you and what to do
when this happens in Chapter 9. For now, the focus is on what gets
you moving. Using your motivators consciously will get you unstuck
and propel you out of the muck and mire of “stuckdom” and back onto
your path, moving forward to create the life you desire.
The
things that motivate you are values, and although they typically
aren’t your life values, some of these motivating values may show
up in that department. These particular values are called attracting
values and repelling values. Their name describes what they do:
they either pull you toward a thing or move you away from it.
The
donkey driver who takes no chances with a stubborn donkey and uses
both a carrot and a stick is a perfect example of attracting and
repelling values. The carrot is dangled in front of the donkey,
which the donkey moves toward, and the stick is used on its behind,
which the donkey moves away from.
Likewise,
you have carrots and sticks that will assist you in moving yourself
in the direction you wish to go - values that move you toward something
and values that move you away from something. The motivating values
that are attracting you toward what you desire are your carrots,
and your sticks are those values that repel you away from what you
don’t desire.
When
you know what those motivating values are, you can use them as powerful
tools on your journey toward living your life purpose. Not only
will they come in handy when you find yourself stuck and unable
to move forward, but you’ll be able to use them before you
find yourself stopped. Using the plan you created for living your
life purpose, you can associate the appropriate motivators with
important steps before taking action to add horsepower to your forward
movement.
